Monthly Archives: April 2013

The abandoned listening station on the Teufelsberg Berlin has a magical atmosphere. The industrial area with its rusty metal surfaces, broken glass and the unique acoustic in the domes provide a rich repertoire of fascinating sounds which reflect the area’s ambience.

We could not resist the attraction of the place and visited it in 2009, equipped with microphones and recording devices.
Subsequently the recordings were given to some musicians in order to get different interpretations of the sound material. The goal was to translate the impressions of the place into music.

Recently more artists decided to work with our sound material to produce new tracks for this second Radarstation album, thus creating more versatile perspectives of that soundscape.

HIRNTRUST34
Format: 7″ Vinyl
Artist: KARDIAC
Title: Play God
Released:
04.2013
Copies: 200

The latest and most dangerous development is the
inclusion & addition of American Death Rap “artists”
like KARDIAC to the Hirntrust army. This perverted
form of Rap music is infectious and causes major
damage when administered to minors but still is
able to cause serious damage to unstabile adult minds. Death Rap at it’s best on clear red wax!

Listen HERE on soundcloud!

and check this awsome KARDIAC “The Nest”
video on youtube. Video directed and edited by
William Joel, shot by Aimee Thomas for
Shot.Edit.Repeat.Films.

HIRNTRUST35
Format: 7″ Vinyl
Artists: NAPALM DEF
Title: Tigers
Released:
04.2013
Copies: 150

When DeathRap meets CrackRap there’s a need for
people to make ends meet and this is was the
Baltiomore-based NAPALM DEF do, musically.

Paralyzed, 808-driven beats and grinding low pitch noises their music is hard like cold turkey. One can literally see paranoia and trepidation sitting in the back of NAPALM DEF’s studio while the duo spits darkest rhymes, this time backed by their homeboy BAGELFACE which is another creepy, sick minded creature hailing from Baltimores Mutant HipHop scene. Ever watched a horror flic in frame-by-frame mode? If you answer is yes you’ll love this 7″ vinyl!

Listen HERE on soundcloud!

Salon Brut is a new program-initiative from  Willemeen (Arnhem, east Netherlands) to dig up and show the more obscure spectrum of music. Sounds that doesn’t fit in a particular genre or  are too foggy to describe properly. In any case acts that operate in a remote area of the music scene; the extreme other end of R&B. Appropriate words to describe Salon Brut are: Absurdity, hard to handle, funny, weird, noisy, challenging.

Wednesday the 17th of April marks the first edition of Salon Brut with amazing headliner Wolf Eyes!

Wolf Eyes
Some say Rock N Roll will never reach the same primitive raw vein hit of Bo Diddley at his more subhuman lurch or no unit can ever scramble the marbles left of what brain boiling suburban electronic punk outsiders did in the mid 70′s: Whatever you think, there is no denying the homemade nuclear war Wolf Eyes has left on music. Wolf Eyes was birthed in the shadows by a few liked minded individuals: Nate Young, Aaron Dilloway and John Olson in the late 90′s in Michigan. However, Wolf Eyes has become more than band, but a collective mutant ensemble, an art abstraction unit: musicians, print makers, photographers and more, all who share a primal shadowy vision of decoding the wilderness into the soul of humanoid from the deep audio arsenals.

You can listen to Wolf Eyes’ new album ”No Answer: Lower Floors” on Pitchfork Advance.

Support act will be Vrienden van de Duitse KeukenBelchsingersonggrinderSurd ZillahBart Hard, NeurobitSvartvit and everything will be complimented with visuals from Erik Maes.

Twenty – two  year old P.L.X.T.X., songwriter / remix artist releases a new Harsh Digital Hardcore LP, which starts out by calmly sitting people down, forcibly suggesting they listen, moving them to speak.

The title Selective Mutism is justifiably chosen, given that the term Selective Mutism is defined as a disorder in which a person normally capable of speech is unable to speak in given situations or to specific people. Selective Mutism is associated with anxiety and may be an extreme form of social phobia. Through aggressive broken beats, harsh noise, and thrusting lyrics P.L.X.T.X’s LP Selective Mutism, inspires its audience to get up and speak, acknowledging their fear as a hurdle to be jumped.

Whether speech is the act of banging one’s head about to the heavy broken beats, or screaming the lyrics of the sometimes catchy chorus lines, Selective Mutism is a public request to throw out our fears for speech, as defined by the individual. For example, the catchy chorus of “War” by P.L.X.T.X. and Wolf Bush, tells us to reject projected conformities “break this chain” and project who I am, the chorus goes:
I will not be your cubicle slave
I will not be your globalist square
I will not be your conformist carbon copy
I will not be your televised Christian
I will not be your high school American dream
I will not be your sweet little girl
watch me break this chain
watch me spread my wings
watch me break this chain
watch me spread my wings

P.L.X.T.X’s first release Time is described, by French Music Critic, Faust Sceptik as “a well orchestrated défouloir (letting off steam); ultra-violent, ultra-dissonant, ultra-fast” giving it a rating of 4 out of 5. Since 2012 P.L.X.T.X. has produced Digital Hardcore music, worked with Wolf Bush (featured on OMGITM in 2012 with his single “VOOM”),  NUIRE – François Delamarre, and has remixed songs by Haut&Court, Nuire, Dorian Electra x Wolf Bush,  Giant Battle Monster. P.L.X.T.X. will be touring with the experimental-hardcore-punk group, MOTHS this winter.

COMING SOON! – Widerstand 16/LP4 – AB-HINC – Farkhülse Fist Reconfigurations

 ABHC-REC-8364-B-webABHC-REC-8361-B-web

2×12″ on Widerstand Records · WS16/LP4
Digital in coop. with Wire Globe Recordings · WGR18

Ab-Hinc´s Farkhülse Fist 12″ came out in 1997 and was the fourth release of Widerstand Records.
At that time the release was located quite offside the speedcore-electronics line of the label. Kovert described Farkhülse Fist in datacide 3 as “a true funeral march soundtrack as the slowest breaks break over controlled noise and disturbing electronics. Pitched down voices and synths wash over the noise and beats.”

15 years later, the artists and composers Pure (A/D), Kovert (UK), Eiterherd (A), chfs (A), Kajkyt (BiH/A), Opcion (A), Shiver Electronics (A) and Freudenberger (D) were invited to work out the so-called reconfigurations.

The result is a weird collection of conceptual sound art, atmospheric drones, abstract noise experiments and dark beats. The Farkhülse Fist Reconfigurations will soon come out as a 2×12″ album again on Widerstand Records and as a digital version in cooperation with Wire Globe Recordings.

The digital version will be extended from time to time with additional reconfigurations.
We are looking forward to digital contributions by Heifetz (A), Idklang (A) and others.
